I hope this kid has a good therapist because he is going to need one when he see’s what the hell just happened. The new ‘Time’ Magazine cover has caused an uproar. Breastfeeding is a natural act but, to have your 4 year-old stand on a chair and suckle his mothers breast while photographers yell out, “Look at the birdie” seems kind of wrong.

The actual article ‘Are You Mom Enough’ was supposed to speak about Dr. William Sears and attachment parenting but it seems that Time mag wanted to shock it’s readers or just cause a huge media blitz. I have to say, it worked.

In case you were wondering, the woman who is not shy about having her 4 year-old photographed while she breast feeds him is Jamie Lynne Grumet, a lactation consultant and breastfeeding advocate who says:

“I don’t consider breast feeding immodest at all,” she told Time magazine. “I’m not shy about doing it in public.”

“There are people who tell me there’s going to call social services on me or that it’s child molestation,” Grumet tells Time, adding that her mother breast-fed her until she was 6. “But people have to realize this is biologically normal. It’s not socially normal. The more people see it, the more it’ll become normal in our culture. That’s what I’m hoping. I want people to see it.”
